Meet Info for Shady Hollow June 4th - arrive 7am

THIS IS A 25 METER DISTANCE POOL - TIMES WILL APPEAR "SLOWER" BUT IT IS DUE TO A 25 METER POOL BEING SLIGHTLY LONGER THAN 25 YARD POOL.

Directions to the Shady Hollow pool:  http://www.capitalcitysummerleague.com/pdfs/mapshadyhollow.pdf

Shady Hollow Pool
3902 Capistrano Trail
Austin, Texas 78739

Stingrays website:  www.shadyhollowstingrays.com

On deck volunteer meetings at 8:10am
Timers: meet at junction of short wall and baby pool wall
Stroke and Turn Judges: meet near ramp to baby pool and picnic tables
Ready Bench:  meet at ready bench tent
Runners:  meet at bottom of steps in front of concessions
Ribbons:  meet at ribbons desk near front gate

Reminder, each team is responsible to bring your own heat sheets for your volunteers.  Shady Hollow will provide stop watches and DQ slips.

Baby pool is closed during swim meets, only to be used as walk through.

They will have 3 large open sided tents (10' X 20') set up for shade for visiting teams, but if you have extra pop ups, I'd recommend bringing them along, the forecast for this weekend is over 100 F.  They will have a concessions stand with breakfast tacos and coffee as well as hot dogs, hamburgers, and sausage wraps later in the morning, and the usual drinks and snacks.  Once the parking lot fills up at the pool, feel free to park along the streets near the pool.

One final note from Shady Hollow: "Across the parking lot from our pool is a tennis court.  In one of the oak trees along the backside of the tennis court we had a bee hive inside the tree.  The HOA GM informed me the hive has been cleared from the tree, however, a wood structure is in place holding a bee trap.  Please ask your swimmers to stay outside the yellow caution tape in that area.  There are still some residual bees, however, as much as I am at the pool, I didn't even know the hive was there.   Just wanted to bring this to your attention, this should not be a safety issue."

Helpful Tips and Tricks for Meets

Returning parents...  feel free to add your ideas under "Post a Comment"!!

Arrive to "away" meets by 7am to set up and send swimmer to warm-ups.  Maps to "away" pools can be found on green links in Swim Meet Schedule section on home page.   For "home" meets in Belterra, arrive with swimmers ready to warm-up by 6:45am.

When you arrive to the host pool, look for the GREEN!!  Our team will be the sea of bright lime green t-shirts.

Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and shade tent/canopy for your family if you have one.  Or share one with a friend if you'd like.

You can sit anywhere you want but be sure you/your swimmer can see the Event Round-Up Tent and white board with what event is being called up.

Pack snacks, sandwiches, and drinks in a cooler. Most pools have concessions with hot dogs, soda, snacks available too.

Label your swimmer's tshirt/cap/goggles/towel etc with their name.

Bring a sharpie to 'mark-up' your swimmer's arm with event/heat/lane for their races.  Please ask other parents for help if you are unsure how to "mark".

Don't forget the sunscreen!   Spray sunscreen is best for swimmers so that it doesn't smear the marker - please put on sunscreen AFTER you have marked your swimmer.
